Apostille
Austria accepts apostilles from Brazil. Your official documents, such as your birth certificate, need an apostille from Cartório before you submit them.
Visa-free entry
Citizens of Brazil can enter Austria without a visa for up to 90 days and apply for the residence permit at the immigration office there (the MA 35 in Vienna). The OeAD still recommends applying from home.
Processing time
Usually 4 to 8 weeks for applicants from Brazil; the legal maximum is 90 days. Waiting for an embassy appointment: ~2 weeks.
